The rest of the league will want that one back. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint tumbling to the Cowboys in pick No. 216 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The Muasau pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
They jumped the gun on Jeremiah Trotter Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Bucky Irving at par in the 91st pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach on Jordan Jefferson in pick 174; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 216th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Sheridan Jones in pick No. 233, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Darius Muasau at No. 244 is a conviction pick that outran the value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
