It is the swing that defines the weekend: Oluwafemi Oladejo in pick 72, a good 169 spots before the room expected him. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C.
They banked enough surplus on Fitzgerald to cover a lot of smaller sins. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Hit on Tyler Warren and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
They barely believed it either: Tyler Warren still on the board at Round 2, Pick 7. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ozzy Trapilo at No. 61 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Oluwafemi Oladejo this early at the 72nd pick. It fills a real need, too.
Darien Porter at pick No. 79 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Jalen Travis in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board fumbled Smael Mondon Jr. all the way to pick 207, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Ryan Fitzgerald in Round 7, Pick 20 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They will replay RJ Harvey at the 250th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
