Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs bled value on every deal, hence the D-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Chiefs, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

The Cole reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.20 · Pick 20 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 25
In pick No. 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
R1.32 · Pick 32 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 33
In No. 32 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.20 · Pick 52 · Ruke Orhorhoro · DT · rank 55
They paid sticker price for Ruke Orhorhoro in the 52nd overall pick, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 110
Cole Bishop at Round 3, Pick 32 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Matt Goncalves · OT · rank 114
They paid up for Matt Goncalves at the 100th pick when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.21 · Pick 121 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 132
They liked Ben Sinnott enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 121. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.18 · Pick 154 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 164
They jumped the gun on Isaiah Davis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.22 · Pick 158 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 165
Luke McCaffrey in pick 158 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · Myles Cole · DE-EDGE · rank 223
Myles Cole at pick 197 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.43 · Pick 218 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 236
Trevin Wallace in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
