The Raiders went off the board in a big way for Roman Hemby, 105 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

They have staked the next five years on Fernando Mendoza, which is the only story that really matters here. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Kilgore to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
