Boards are made to be trusted, and the Ravens shredded theirs for Vincent Anthony Jr.. He came off 68 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Hecht value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a red-zone target to build around. A real need, handled.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Lee Hunter. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Treydan Stukes slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Ted Hurst in the 82nd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Sam Hecht in pick No. 115 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kage Casey in slot 154 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Value with a capital V on Malik Benson in Round 5, Pick 22, a genuine coup. The roster fit checks out.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Demond Claiborne at the 173rd overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Vincent Anthony Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Aaron Graves at the 211th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
