The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Treydan Stukes fell into pick No. 120.
Reaching for Eastern left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Caleb Tiernan in Round 2, Pick 20 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jacob Rodriguez slid further than he should have, and slot 84 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Treydan Stukes in the 120th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Charles Demmings in No. 160. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They did well to land Cole Payton in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Trey Zuhn III in the 236th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Deven Eastern at pick 255 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
