The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Myles Jones, pick 243, roughly 29 picks past where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They will need Clark to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Adonai Mitchell in pick 50 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bralen Trice in Round 2, Pick 22. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No edge and no loss on Tykee Smith in slot 97; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Good price on Will Shipley in the 137th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 163, where Jaylin Simpson graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
