The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ollie Gordon II, pick 250, roughly 83 picks past where he belonged.
They are betting Bailey proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A big swing on Elic Ayomanor at the Round 2 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; David Bailey in the 87th overall pick says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Azareye'h Thomas at par in pick 94, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They let Savion Williams come to them and pounced at No. 122. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick No. 158 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Joshua Gray in the 196th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Jonah Monheim at slot 237 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
