You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Packers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They banked enough surplus on Allen to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Packers paired the rookies with proven help, DeShon Elliott leading the way.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Terrion Arnold in the 41st pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Braelon Allen all the way to slot 119, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Tykee Smith come to them and pounced at No. 135. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
