You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Commanders did exactly that with Marshawn Kneeland in pick 40. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Whatever Drake Maye becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They went 8 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
