The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Steelers watched Kamari Ramsey slide 47 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Adding Joe Alt by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In the end it comes back to Anthony Hill Jr., and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Anthony Hill Jr. in the 59th pick, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy bit of business in slot 76, where Antonio Williams graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Domonique Orange is a better player than Round 3, Pick 21 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Sam Hecht in No. 99 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Skyler Bell slid further than he should have, and pick 100 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The roster fit checks out.
Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 121 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Drew Allar in the 161st overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Miles Kitselman was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
