The Steelers put a flag in the ground for Trey Zuhn III, 30 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The Crownover pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher still on the board. On value alone, McNeil-Warren makes the weekend a net positive. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value.
The board had cheaper options than Antonio Williams at pick No. 53, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at slot 76 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kyle Louis in Round 3, Pick 21 is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Darrell Jackson Jr. at par in No. 99, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
