Boards are made to be trusted, and the Steelers shredded theirs for Spencer Rattler. He came off 35 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with quarterback the one that mattered most.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 20 they get a sticky cover corner. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Braden Fiske in slot 51, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Spencer Rattler in the 84th overall pick, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Cedric Gray, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on McKinnley Jackson at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
