Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Packers never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Devonshire at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The cost of the Ali reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Graham Barton at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Darius Robinson at par in pick No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Xavier Worthy in slot 58 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid up for Christian Mahogany at Round 3, Pick 25 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Cole Bishop in the 91st pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Elijah Jones is a better player than pick 126 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They went early on Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 169, and the value did not follow. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nice patience on M.J. Devonshire, who had no business lasting to the 202nd overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Caedan Wallace in No. 219. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A conviction pick on Rasheen Ali at pick 245 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jalen Sundell in slot 255. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
