The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Zion Logue went at the 252nd pick, a good 34 picks before the board was ready.

The Magee pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Ladd McConkey · WR · rank 34
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 41 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 65
Christian Haynes in No. 58 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
A straight-up fair deal on Patrick Paul at the 64th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 84
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Corum in pick No. 88. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
They went early on Cole Bishop in slot 91, and the value did not follow. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarvis Brownlee Jr. · CB · rank 112
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at the 126th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 181
A reach on Ty'Ron Hopper in No. 169; the board had better options right there. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Jaylen Harrell · DE-EDGE · rank 208
No edge and no loss on Jaylen Harrell in the 202nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 206
Jared Wiley slipping to pick No. 219 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 222
They will replay Jordan Magee at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R7.32 · Pick 252 · Zion Logue · DL · rank 286
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zion Logue well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 255
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Owens. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
