Good, not great, for the Packers: B.

Future B-

The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Trevin Wallace, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. However the rest shakes out, Thomas Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Chop Robinson · DE-EDGE · rank 21
In the 25th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 27
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 41 is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.29 · Pick 61 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
They jumped the gun on Patrick Paul, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Max Melton · CB · rank 76
A quiet steal in pick No. 88: Max Melton for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Calen Bullock · S · rank 83
A slide stopped in slot 91, with Calen Bullock worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Christian Jones · OT · rank 132
Christian Jones at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
R5.28 · Pick 164 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 160
Tykee Smith at No. 164 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Nelson Ceaser · DL-EDGE · rank 165
Nelson Ceaser in the 169th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 222
They paid sticker price for Jordan Magee in slot 219, and that is fine. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Kimani Vidal · RB · rank 253
Kimani Vidal at the Round 7 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
Jalen Sundell at pick 255 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
