Thirty-one other rooms let M.J. Devonshire slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at Round 6, Pick 44. Highway robbery.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Hall left real value on the table behind him.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Jackson Powers-Johnson · C · rank 31
In pick No. 25 they get a blindside protector at fair value.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Ladd McConkey · WR · rank 34
A tidy little value on Ladd McConkey in slot 41, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 50
The board had Junior Colson higher than the 58th pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 90
Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 25 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 105
Cole Bishop in pick 91 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 129
No edge and no loss on Isaac Guerendo in No. 126; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 181
They liked Ty'Ron Hopper enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Gabe Hall · DL · rank 220
They reached a country mile for Gabe Hall at the 202nd overall pick, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · M.J. Devonshire · CB · rank 191
M.J. Devonshire at Round 6, Pick 44 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Ryan Watts · CB · rank 261
A conviction pick on Ryan Watts at the Round 7 slot that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Brevyn Spann-Ford · TE · rank 249
Nothing to complain about; Brevyn Spann-Ford went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
