The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Adonai Mitchell, the No. 33 name on the board, in slot 64.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Marquise Brown deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
Steal is underselling it; Adonai Mitchell at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Dominick Puni at the 95th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They let Josh Newton come to them and pounced at slot 133. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Xavier Thomas in Round 5, Pick 22 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaheim Bell at No. 172 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
