They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Adam Randall, 51 picks early at the 229th pick.
The Lane pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a load in the middle. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had cheaper options than Joshua Josephs at slot 36, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and A.J. Haulcy at the 64th pick is the proof. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Somehow Ja'Kobi Lane was still sitting there in the 127th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Trey Zuhn III at the Round 4 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Matt Gulbin at pick 165 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Ephesians Prysock went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at the 195th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They read the board right and Jeff Caldwell was the payoff at slot 205. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
VJ Payne slipping to No. 213 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Dallen Bentley is a better player than the 222nd overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value said wait; Adam Randall in Round 7, Pick 13 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
