The Commanders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The Wallace steal is the beam this whole class leans on. If Wilson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Austin Booker at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Khyree Jackson at pick No. 89 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They jumped the gun on Theo Johnson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Johnny Wilson in pick 100 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They read the board right and Trevin Wallace was the payoff at the 168th overall pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Kamal Hadden at the 175th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
