They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Carson Beck is the Cardinals' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Mills pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Landing Savaiinaea that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a franchise quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jonah Savaiinaea slipping to No. 40 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Parker Brailsford in pick 72, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Rylie Mills at the 104th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
TJ Ferguson in pick No. 136 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Gentry Williams at slot 168 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Kiser. A need, and now a little less of one.
