They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Dylan McMahon, 40 picks early at the 223rd overall pick.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Rome Odunze at par in slot 11, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid sticker price for Jordan Morgan in the 37th pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Kris Jenkins in pick No. 42; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Mike Sainristil at the 69th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Audric Estime in pick 106, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Beau Brade in No. 139 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No drama and no debate, Cornelius Johnson went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Dylan McMahon at slot 223 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Josh Wallace in Round 7, Pick 36 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
