There is reaching, and then there is Isaac Guerendo at the 229th pick. The Patriots jumped the board by 46 and dared it to prove them wrong. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Allen at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Will Hernandez leading the way.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
