You can draft well and still miss the point. The Patriots did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most.
On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Jack Sawyer in No. 38 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
