Somebody in pick No. 113 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while Malachi Fields, the No. 73 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The cost of the Scott reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Jordyn Brooks pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
