Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Giants never addressed safety, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Trost pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Black has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 9 they get a press-man option on the boundary. A real need, handled.
In No. 29 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Chris Bell. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had cheaper options than Keylan Rutledge at the 105th overall pick, and it noticed. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Tim Keenan III at the 145th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Zane Durant in Round 6, Pick 5, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Keagen Trost at the Round 6 slot is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A real head-scratcher, Kaelon Black in pick 193 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
