Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Dwight McGlothern got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at pick 222. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.
Bottom line, with Jayden Daniels leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels in pick No. 2 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Marvin Harrison Jr. in slot 36, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Malik Nabers in Round 2, Pick 9 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steal is underselling it; Chris Braswell at pick 67 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kris Jenkins at slot 78 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Kingsley Suamataia here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Somehow Sataoa Laumea was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Circle this one: Beau Brade at the 168th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They barely believed it either: Dwight McGlothern still on the board at the 222nd overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
