The rest of the league will want that one back. Braden Fiske tumbling to the Commanders in the 139th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value.
In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Laiatu Latu in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
JC Latham at slot 36 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Rome Odunze in No. 40, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 4 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tyler Nubin in pick 78 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Taking Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 100th pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Brian Thomas Jr. all the way to pick No. 103, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Circle this one: Braden Fiske at the 139th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ben Sinnott at No. 152 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Somehow Caelen Carson was still sitting there in the 193rd pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Jaylen Harrell at the 222nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
