The Cardinals spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Carson Schwesinger, the No. 126 name on the board, in pick 151.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The Williams pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 16 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
JT Tuimoloau in Round 2, Pick 15 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Omarr Norman-Lott at slot 78 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
A slide stopped in pick No. 113, with Maxwell Hairston worth more than the price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Carson Schwesinger at the 151st overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
