The search is over. The Giants handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
That Worthy pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Patrick Paul in pick No. 39 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Keon Coleman was the payoff at pick 47. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in No. 70: Xavier Worthy for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Braelon Allen at the 108th pick, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
They talked themselves into Jordan Jefferson at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A real head-scratcher, Drake Nugent in the 185th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
