Boards are made to be trusted, and the Dolphins shredded theirs for Eyabi Okie-Anoma. He came off 67 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Gore Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a long-term starter on the line, a steep price for the projection.
Sedrick Van Pran at the 55th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Brenden Rice this early at slot 71. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A quiet steal in pick 165: Kitan Oladapo for less than the market said. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A real head-scratcher, Gabe Hall in pick No. 198 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for Eyabi Okie-Anoma at the 218th pick, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Frank Gore Jr. in slot 241 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
