The Cardinals' one glaring miss is wide receiver, a need they left exactly as they found it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value. A real need, handled.
No edge and no loss on Xavier Watts in pick No. 49; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Darrell Jackson Jr.. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Jermari Harris went about where he belonged in No. 90. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Jack Nelson in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Cade Klubnik come to them and pounced at pick 152. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
