Somebody in slot 243 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Wyatt Milum, the No. 34 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a problem off the edge, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Taking Armand Membou in Round 2, Pick 26 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; Jihaad Campbell at the 89th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach No. 127 and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Somehow Jahdae Barron was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at slot 243 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
