Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Texans came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. No fireworks, but a solid B+.
Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Denzel Burke at the 53rd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They paid sticker price for TreVeyon Henderson in slot 88, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good price on Donovan Jackson in the 121st overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Junior Colson slid further than he should have, and pick 127 is lovely value for the linebacker. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Moose Muhammad III in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Magee at Round 7, Pick 19 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Williams still on the board at the Round 7 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
