The Texans did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Earnest Greene III fell into No. 243.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The Jaylon Jones pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
In the end it comes back to Mason Graham, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Steal is underselling it; Emeka Egbuka at No. 58 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Cam Skattebo in the 127th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
