This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: JJ Pegues, the No. 187 name on the board, stolen at the 256th overall pick.
Every board in the league had Clark lower, and that gap is the story. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, with Alfred Collins leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
Alfred Collins at the 58th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Jack Bech at No. 90 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Malachi Moore in pick 127 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Cam Skattebo in pick No. 132, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board fumbled Jack Nelson all the way to slot 167, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value said wait; De'Corian Clark in Round 7, Pick 25 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
JJ Pegues in the 256th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
