The Texans went off the board in a big way for Jalen Royals, 32 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Mullings.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 31st pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Elijah Arroyo at Round 2, Pick 26 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They liked Jaylin Noel enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 89. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Kalel Mullings worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
