You build a draft on nights like this. Barrett Carter had no business being available in Round 5, Pick 29, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Every board in the league had Cooper lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Matthew Golden in No. 58. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taking Jihaad Campbell in Round 3, Pick 25 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.

Tyler Cooper in pick 241 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
