The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Emmanuel Pregnon, the No. 39 name on the board, in No. 141.
They are betting Haynes proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

In pick 28 they get an every-down engine for the run game at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Kenyon Sadiq in the 38th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
You do not let a wide receiver like Chris Brazzell II reach slot 59 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Anthony Hill Jr. at the 69th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Brandon Cisse in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
