The rest of the league will want that one back. Kayden McDonald tumbling to the Texans in pick 59 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Stephens pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In slot 28 they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Somehow Arvell Reese was still sitting there in the 38th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Kayden McDonald at Round 2, Pick 27 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
D'Angelo Ponds in pick 69 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They barely believed it either: Connor Lew still on the board at pick No. 106. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Beau Stephens in the 141st pick says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Demond Claiborne in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
You do not let a wide receiver like Zavion Thomas reach No. 243 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
