You could see the war room lean forward. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at pick 141 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The cost of the Gulbin reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th pick they get a green-dot type in the middle, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Taking Kenyon Sadiq in pick No. 38 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Lee Hunter is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, D'Angelo Ponds in slot 69, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Chase Bisontis in Round 4, Pick 6 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 141st overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Matt Gulbin at pick 167 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Desmond Reid in No. 243 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
