The rest of the league will want that one back. Eli Stowers tumbling to the Texans in the 106th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every board in the league had Fa'amoe lower, and that gap is the story. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Sonny Styles slid further than he should have, and pick 29 is lovely value for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Dillon Thieneman at slot 38 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They barely believed it either: Anthony Hill Jr. still on the board at pick No. 59. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Taking Lee Hunter in Round 3, Pick 5 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Eli Stowers all the way to the 106th pick, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Omar Cooper Jr. at the 109th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 148 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Demond Claiborne slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A big swing on Fa'alili Fa'amoe at No. 210, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Trey Zuhn III at the 243rd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
