The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named running back, a need the Texans walked right past.
Landing Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
Tyler Warren slid further than he should have, and pick No. 25 is lovely value for the tight end. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Alfred Collins in the 58th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 3, Pick 25 with a little surplus value in Donovan Jackson. The roster fit checks out.
