Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Nick Nash, the No. 155 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 243rd pick.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

In slot 25 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Malaki Starks at No. 58 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor itch, scratched.
You do not let a running back like Cam Skattebo reach pick 126 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Xavier Restrepo was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Oronde Gadsden II in the 176th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Cobee Bryant at Round 7, Pick 10 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Nick Nash in pick No. 243, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
