You could see the war room lean forward. Pat Bryant at slot 198 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the back end at fair value. More want than need.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 58 with a little surplus value in Harold Fannin Jr.. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jaylin Noel at pick No. 101 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for Jordan Phillips here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Anthony Belton in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A running back of that caliber at pick 167 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Pat Bryant at Round 6, Pick 20 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Isaac TeSlaa at slot 243 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
