Whoever sat across the table from the Texans should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Lachey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for TreVeyon Henderson in slot 58, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jake Majors in the 89th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Connor Colby at pick No. 165 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Luke Lachey at No. 241 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
