When a board-topper like Colston Loveland slides to No. 58, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. The biggest hole, addressed.
Colston Loveland in the 58th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Dylan Fairchild at pick 89 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Cam Skattebo still on the board at Round 4, Pick 26. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Nick Nash at the 167th overall pick is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
DJ Campbell in pick No. 243 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
