Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Thor Griffith at pick 243 is 67 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The Starks pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A safety of that caliber at the 58th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tate Ratledge in pick No. 76 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They jumped the gun on Cam Skattebo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at No. 127 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
The board fumbled Oronde Gadsden II all the way to slot 167, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No drama and no debate, Kyle Williams went about where he belonged in the 211th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Thor Griffith in the 243rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
