Call it larceny. Jordan Hancock sat on the board until the 243rd pick, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Grey Zabel in the 58th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Alfred Collins in slot 90 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Cam Skattebo at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Jack Nelson all the way to pick 167, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Jordan Hancock here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
