The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jordan Phillips, pick 167, roughly 55 picks past where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Every board in the league had Griffith lower, and that gap is the story. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Kareem Hunt gives the group a proven body among the projects.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a security blanket over the middle, and a steal at that.
A safety of that caliber at pick 58 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A quiet steal in the 66th overall pick: Isaiah Bond for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They paid up for Cam Skattebo at the 89th pick when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jared Wilson at pick No. 127 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.

Kyle Williams at No. 243 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A real head-scratcher, Thor Griffith in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
